Good to know

Well, it's summertime and business is slow. I haven't recaptured my momentum from May just yet. We've been so busy with travel and baby things, Scentsy has taken the back burner. We're still making room for baby, but I have to make room for business too since I have a couple of people in need of scents, and I need some laundry stuff. I've loved/hated seeing the pics of fellow consultants in Punta Cana this past week. I'm determined to be on one of these trips someday. Tomorrow night is Online Steps to Sucess, and I'm looking forward to some inspiration. I always recommend participating in this monthly event with our upline Directors. I did complete a ticket with Consultant support about buying Velata from team members, and you are free to buy Velata from any Velata consultant even if they are in your downline. This is good to know for personal knowledge and recruiting. One last thing, there are several team members who are on schedule to be terminated as Scentsy Consultants if they don't pick up at least 1 PRV by the end of the month. If you haven't posted anything this year, this is you. If there is anything I can do or questions I can answer, don't hesitate to contact me. Summer on and Thunder Up!

Velata

The early part of May was quite busy for my Scentsy Wickless business with 2 party-sized orders. Then, I took a coupe of weeks to focus on a Velata fund raiser (which tanked by the way), and lost my momentum. I'm starting to understand how difficult it really is to balance the 2 brands. I'm heavily leaning toward just focusing on Wickless. If I was able to be home and work Scentsy full time, I could probably make it work. Unfortunately, at this time, I still need my full time job to pay the bills. I'm hoping Scentsy will tell me that I can purchase Velata from a dowline team member, so I can pass that business on to them. I LOVE Velata I just don't think I can manage a second business right now. How are things going for you guys? Lesya and Stephanie had success in May. Lesya had another 500 PRV month and received a bage if goodies from me this week as my thanks. Stephanie also post over 300 PRV while healing from a major medical issue. Go ladies!! Several of you haven't posted any PRV this year and will lose your consultantship at the end of this month if you don't post an order. I hate to see that happen, but maybe it just wasn't what you were looking for. I wish you all well!

BUSY

Well, April was a flop, but May has been off to a banging start. I've already placed 2 party-sized Scentsy orders and started a Velata fundraiser with Lesya. What's the difference in the 2 months? Simply, it's work. I've worked my business a little bit almost everyday this week, and it's paying off. It's what I call karma. It's not that my work is directly bringing me more orders, but it seems when I work the ordered come to me. Try it and see if it works for you. I must also give a shout out to Lesya who has already posted over 500 PRV this month! You go, girl! If any of you have issues or questions about Velata, please ask. There are some great trainings in the Training Center too.

March Shout Outs - Way Overdue

I totally forgot to give a shout out to some outstanding team members last month:

Lesya - over 2000 PRV - WOW!!!
Stephanie - over 700 PRV - You go girl!
LeeAnn - over 200 PRV - Keep it up!

I am so proud of all of you for working your business! I have taken a lot of Scentsy time off this year for various reasons.  I'm really hoping that this weekend trip to Norman for the Swing for the Fences training and the arrival of my Velata starter kit will help me get my mojo back.  I commited myself to spend time in the office this week even if I'm just picking up, and tonight was day one.  Every journey begins with the first step, right?

I would love to hear from the team about what is holding you back or how you are finding success.  What are hopes, dreams, and wishes for your Scentsy business?  What can I do to help?

Lazy No More

I've been completely lazy with my business all year! I'm struggling for customers and hostesses. My leads aren't panning out. But you know what? It's no ones fault but my own. I haven't been truly working. I've been waiting for things to fall in my lap like they did when I first started. The time has come for me to step up. Tonight's Online Steps to Success was about organization, so that is where I'm going start. I'm going to wrap up my 2011 files and get them put away. Then I'm going to get 2012 up to current. I'm also going to advertise and try to touch base with my customers through Layers postcards and updating Loyalty cards. I'm not going to use my pregnancy as an excuse to be lazy anymore. It's going to be my reason to grow more than just a belly, so I can stay home with this beautiful blessing! Want to join me?

Transition Activity

Before the bradford pear tree pollen utterly invaded my world making my life more difficult, I was busy changing over to the new catalog season.  Yes, February is technically transition month, but there was lots to do the first weeks of March.  I stamped my new catalogs with my contact information.  This could have been done sooner, but I was anxiously waiting on the stamp.  :) My old catalogs went in the recycle bin as I stocked the new ones.  I went through my testers - 2 sets of minis and a set of party testers - and removed the discontinued scents in favor of the new scents.  I set up a new display at my day job to show off Wellington and the new scents.  My son helped me make samples of Sunlit Morning to go with the flyers for Wellington.  I added my personal stamp to the Making Perfect Scents newsletter to let my customers know about my March specials.  I also order some Layers business supplies.  Tonight I placed my first order from the new catalog - most of it Layers products for myself to use and show.

What have you been doing to prepare for the new catalog season?
